Dr. Linda D. Jungwirth, founder of Convening Conversations, Inc., provides professional development, consulting, and coaching services based on a systems approach for action-oriented results. Services are based on organizational needs, relevancy, and active learning with the intent to build capacity within organizations. Dr. Jungwirth, recognized as a California League of High Schools (CLHS) 2007 Educator of the Year Region 10 administrator in support of high school reform, is also the recipient of the 2008 Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Wilson A. Grace Award. This award recognizes Dr. Jungwirth as a person who exemplifies ideals of tolerance, compassion, and professional leadership, and as a person who is well respected and can motivate and inspire personal and professional growth in others. Dr. Jungwirth is a co-author of Culturally Proficient Learning Communities: Confronting Inequities Through Collaborative Curiosity (2009), published by Corwin Press.
Dr. Jungwirth’s experience includes designing, coordinating, and facilitating professional development including: Cultural Proficiency, Cognitive Coaching℠, practitioner’s research and inquiry, data dialogue, polarity management, quality criteria, program evaluation, secondary reform and transformational leadership.
Her expertise in K–20 education and leadership includes experiences in classroom teaching, district and county administration, regional and state committees, state and national conference coordination and presentation, and state/federal grant writing, implementation, and program evaluation. Additional experience includes extensive leadership in secondary high school reform, technology integration, community service and university instruction.
Having written and coordinated over $20,000,000 in federal small learning community grants serving 19 high schools in 11 districts, Dr. Jungwirth has extensive experience in transformational and organizational change.
She has served as a team member for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), California Distinguished and Achieving Schools, and Curriculum Management Audits. Dr. Jungwirth is an Examiner for California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE), the Baldrige-based performance excellence program for California, and works with districts to use the quality tools and align their work with the Baldrige quality criteria.
Dr. Jungwirth currently teaches Leadership and Communication, Practitioner Research, and Cultural Proficiency in the Educational Leadership, Administration, and Policy Doctoral Program at Pepperdine University.
